- Start
- A five-line staff on a strip of cream manuscript paper begins at the press point with a bar line and a treble clef, and a feather quill appears at the cursor.
- Draw
- The staff follows the path with a bar line every so often while the quill writes notes onto it -- quarters, eighths, beamed pairs, the odd half note, rest and sharp, ledger lines off the staff -- their height on the staff following the cursor's vertical motion, with a fleck of ink now and then.
- Release
- A final double bar closes the piece, then the notes lift off the staff one after another from its start and float up, swaying and fading, as the staff fades away.
