Maple Blade

Start: An armoured samurai -- black-lacquered armour laced in vermilion, a gold crescent on the helmet, a banner on its back -- appears at the cursor over a gold ring on the ground.
Draw: It strides along leading the stroke, its banner streaming behind it, and the path hangs in the air as a polished katana cut: a curved steel arc with a darker spine, a wavy temper line and a bright edge that a glint runs along, sparks flying off a fast cut while red maple leaves drift down.
Release: One clean diagonal cut flashes across where the stroke ended and the arc flashes with it, red leaves scatter off the cut, and the sword slides home with a click before the figure fades.
