- A small laser-cutter head powers up over the cursor with a zap, light closing in on a bright pinpoint.
- Draw
- The head rides the cursor burning one crisp kerf that glows white-hot, cools through yellow, orange and cherry red to a dark charred groove, while sparks spray off the cut and fall, smoke curls up and the sheet's registration grid shows round the head under a sweeping scan line.
- Release
- The beam shuts off with a flash and a last shower of sparks, the head lifts away and the glowing kerf cools out.
